Unboxing Ferrishyn: A Bookish Gift Box

Wordies, I am so excited about the bookmail I received today. I first saw this book when the author reached out for sensitivity reading on a very early draft and I’ve had the pleasure of seeing that baby manuscript grow from a rough draft to a published book. Although I’ve worked with well over 600 aspiring writers over the years as an alpha, beta, sensitive or proofreader, this is the first time I’ve seen the process ‘up close’, so to speak. So this holds a special place in my heart. I wasn’t expecting such a big gift box! I am delighted and touched.

I made a video unboxing everything:

If you can’t watch the video right now, here is a list of what I received:

  • The book: FERRISYHN by Ivy Lewis.
  • A notebook: With pictures of the two hunky MMCs (Team Vox or Team Jacob? Let me know!).
  • A gorgeous tote bag: It has a snake on it AND it’s a tote. (*Chef’s kiss*).
  • Character art.
  • Vegan hand creams: The FMC is vegan.
  • Raw hot chocolate (Vegan): Because cosy reads and hot chocolate are a match made in heaven.

I interviewed the author a couple of weeks ago, so you can learn more about her and the book here: Author Interview: Five Questions with Ivy Lewis, Author of Ferrishyn

This package feels like a celebration of the book and the rich world Ivy has created. It’s also a reminder of why I love what I do—helping writers find their voices and polish their stories so they can connect with readers.
